  • Coming Soon!

    Coming Soon! The 2017-2018 Storybook Gardens outdoor winter skating season is scheduled to open on the first weekend in December, weather permitting. Our winding refrigerated 250 skating track offers beautiful outdoor skating six days a week from December through to the end of February. Take a break to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and a fresh hot Beavertail pastry from our rink-side Beavertails location. Private site rentals are available for corporate and group functions. Skate rentals are also available. Purchase an annual pass to skate all season long for only $38.00/ person. Call or visit us for more information.

  • Opening Day of the Storybook Gardens Skate Trail

    Saturday, December 1st

    Opening Day of the Storybook Gardens Skate Trail The 2017-2018 Storybook Gardens outdoor winter skating season is scheduled to open on the first weekend in December, weather permitting. Our winding refrigerated 250 skating track offers beautiful outdoor skating six days a week from December through to the end of February. Take a break to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and a fresh hot Beavertail pastry from our rink-side Beavertails location. Private site rentals are available for corporate and group functions. Skate rentals are also available. Lighting of the Lights will commence at 6pm.

    Snowybook Village Open Snowybook village is open December 22-January 5th. Conditions permitting. Program includes; Extra skating hours, holiday lighting, mascot meet and greets and campfire programming. Come be part of the magic this holiday season!

  • New Year's Eve Hoopla

    December 31st from 6-9pm

    New Year's Eve Hoopla Registration for our outdoor New Year's Eve celebration event for families is open! Event includes a campfire, outdoor skating, crafts, and a countdown to an early new year's beginning at 8:30pm. Program runs from 6-9pm. *This is a pre-registered program. Program Fees - $15.00/ person Discounted Program Fees for Annual Pass Holders - $13.50/ person

January 2019

  • Storybook Family Day - Monday, February 18th

    10am-5pm

    Storybook Family Day - Monday, February 18th There's lots to do on Family Day at Storybook Gardens. In addition to our beautiful ice skating trail, this Family Day enjoy pancake breakfast served by the campfire, meet the animal ambassadors from Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, and take a horse-drawn wagon ride around the park (additional fee applies for wagon ride). Beavertails pastry treats available at the rink-side concession stand.

FAQs

Where can I park when visiting Storybook Gardens?

There is ample free parking in front of Storybook Gardens. It is always safest to secure valuables out of sight or in your trunk. The parking area is well lit in the evening.

How long will a visit to Storybook Gardens take?

When visiting the park during the summer, most visitors spend between three and five hours inside Storybook Gardens. During the winter season, the average length of stay can vary depending on weather conditions.

Do you accept anything other than cash?

We accept cash, debit, or credit card (Visa, Mastercard or Amex) in the castle when paying admissions or for season’s passes, in the concession area and in the Treasure Chest gift shop.

Where can I find first aid?

Storybook Gardens staff are certified in first aid and CPR. If you require first aid, please find your nearest staff member, or visit the castle.

What if I lose track of my child?

The safety and security of children is of paramount importance for us. If you cannot locate your child, please speak with the nearest Storybook Gardens staff member who will assist you, and will send for additional staff if required.

Is the park accessible?

Storybook Gardens is quite flat and level, with paved pathways running throughout much of the park that are suitable for strollers or wheelchairs. Please note that some of the older buildings and play facilities are not fully accessible.

Accessible washrooms are located in the castle at the front of the park.

Storybook Gardens offers wheelchairs for loan for use in the park, as well as an electric mobility scooter. Wheelchairs and the scooter are free to borrow, however we do ask for a credit card number when borrowing the scooter. Wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis; the scooter may be reserved in advance by calling 519.661.5770.

Do you rent strollers or wagons?

In the summer season, we have a number of sturdy wagons available for rent, on a first-come, first-served basis. The wagons are available in the castle, when you pay your admission to enter the park. The cost to rent a wagon is $6.00. We will ask for a credit card number at the time of rental. If the wagon is not returned at the end of your visit, the card provided will by charged the replacement cost of the wagon plus an administrative fee. Wagons are available as of the May long weekend.

Can we bring our own food?

During the spring season our concession locations operate on weekends, offering a variety of hot food items, snacks and beverages. Visitors are also permitted to bring in their own food packed from home. Purchased food from outside restaurants or food-service providers is not permitted inside Storybook Gardens. Barbeques are also not permitted inside Storybook Gardens. Admission to Storybook Gardens includes in and out privileges.

What happens in poor weather?

Amusement rides and attraction areas will close due to extreme temperatures and adverse weather conditions - particularly heavy rain, high winds and/or lightning. This is to ensure that the safety of all our guests is not compromised in unpredictable weather. A specific answer as to when closed rides and attractions will return to operation is not possible because varying degrees of inclement weather cause different effects on different features. Please be assured that Storybook Gardens makes every effort to reopen the rides and attractions as quickly and safely as possible after the adverse weather conditions cease. No refunds or rainchecks will be issued due to adverse weather conditions.

Are there facilities for babies?

There are change tables located in the washrooms, as well as a Baby Change building located in the middle of the park for those wishing a quiet place to change a bay or to nurse. The Baby Change building is located in the middle of the park next to the Villagae Square Stage.

I’ve forgotten something... can I purchase a replacement on site?

Our Treasure Chest gift shop stocks a number of convenience items, such as kleenex, sunscreen, towels, and batteries.

If I leave the park, can I come back in?

Same day re-entry privileges are included with admission. Upon entry we provide a hand stamp for each guest. When you leave then re-enter the park, show this hand stamp to the admissions staff as proof of re-entry. Guests without a hand stamp will not be re-admitted.

How will we know what’s going on in the park?

When you arrive in the castle, you’ll receive a copy of the daily program schedule, which will give the concession hours, amusement ride hours and program schedule of entertainment and activities.

Can we bring a pet in to the park?

Dogs and other pets are not permitted inside Storybook Gardens at any time. Service animals are permitted inside Storybook Gardens. The visitor is responsible for the behaviour and cleanup for the service animal at all times.

Smoking

Storybook Gardens is a smoke free facility. Visitors wishing to smoke are asked to exit the park in order to smoke. Please have your hand stamped at the gate for same day re-entry to the park.

Concessions available at the park

Storybook Gardens hosts an on-site food service that serves up a variety of meals, snacks and treats to meet all your cravings.

Several concession areas operate in the park during the summer season:

  • The Village Square Diner - serving hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries, sandwiches, pizza, cold drinks, and soft serve ice cream treats.
  • Beavertails - Serving fresh hot Beavertails pastries, french fries, poutine, Beaverdogs, hot chocolate, and coffee.

Please note for your convenience the concessions accept: debit, Visa, Mastercard and Amex. There is also an ATM located inside the castle during the summer season.

What attractions are available during the summer season?

Enjoy the Pirate's Island playgrounds, the Leaping Lilypad jumping pillow, sand play area, pedal cars, and miniature play village. The amusement rides operate every day through the summer season, weather conditions permitting. The splash pad is open every day, and each day we have a full schedule of entertainment and activities to enjoy on our Village Square outdoor stage.

Join us on Friday mornings from 10:30-12:30 for "Foamy Fridays" as we fire up the foam machine for some sudsy adventures!

Scented and aerosol products can aggravate existing health problems for people who suffer from asthma, allergies and many other medical conditions. Consider using non-scented alternatives, lotions and gels.
